Story circles are a traditional form of horizontal learning, where participants learn from each other, not from a hierarchical source of knowledge. They have the additional benefit of developing empathy and building relationships.

Mental models are the big ideas that frame people’s thinking and behaviors.

In this series, participants will learn how to moderate a story circle in their own sphere of influence by participating in one.

Each story circle(session) in this series will look at a different topic. The topics and mental models to be addressed are gender, belonging, culture, and spirituality.

These topics all fit into the core protective systems that build resilience at the individual, family and community levels.
