Keynote speaker: Dr Kelly Goeb

St. Croix Hospice Regional Medical Director
Kelly Goeb, MD, is a medical director with St. Croix Hospice in Northern Minnesota. Dr. Goeb started St. Croix Hospice part time in 2017 covering the Duluth office and then moved into a full-time position covering much of Northern Minnesota in 2020. “I never imagined myself working in hospice care,” says Dr. Goeb, “But now that I am here, I really love it.”
Dr. Goeb grew up in Duluth, MN. She attended the College of St. Scholastica, followed by Medical School at UMD and the U of M. She completed a family medicine residency in Midland, MI, returning to Minnesota to practice full spectrum family medicine in Moose Lake and Sandstone, including ER, OB and C-sections. Dr. Goeb has been fortunate to help new life enter this world for more than 12 years. “I know how important the end of life can be and what a great impact we can have with patients and families as they work through the last weeks to months with their loved ones,” says Dr. Goeb. “I am proud to say I have truly practiced the full spectrum of family medicine, from birth to death.”In her spare time, Dr. Goeb enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Shawn, and her four children, ages 15 to 23. She also coaches our high school softball team in the spring and a travel softball team in the summer. Dr. Goeb’s father recently moved to a Memory Care Unit with Alzheimer’s disease. She is experiencing first-hand what hospice families go through with their loved ones as the end of life approaches. “I hope my experiences can help others navigate through the end-of-life journey,” says Dr. Goeb.

This half day event will feature informative speakers on topics such as Honoring Choices and Legal Advice for End of Life. There will also be an opportunity to visit and hear from local Advance Care businesses and partners.
